Open Space: Where Words and Music Meet
August 8, 2020 7:00PM EST
Longtime collaborators tenor Nicholas Phan and pianist Myra Huang join forces to explore the open space where words and music meet with solo and duo works for voice and piano. Program will include Debussy’s Claire de lune, Mad King by Sarah Kirkland Snider who was described as “one of the decade’s more gifted, up-and-coming modern classical composers” (Pitchfork), Schubert’s Frühlingsglaube, Britten’s The Last Rose of Summer, and more. Nick Phan and Myra Huang’s collaborative album Gods and Monsters was nominated for “Best Classical Vocal Solo Album” at the 2018 Grammy® Awards, and they will share the beauty of their partnership through words and song with all who are present.
