Jan 9, 2022, 3 PM - In The Works
Sunday, January 9, 2022, 3:00 PM EST on Zoom
In The Works is a communal gathering for musicians, artists (professionals, amateurs, and students), and art/music lovers to share their works in progress, seeds of future work, and ideas about creativity with each other in an open, safe, and inviting environment. The sharing can be a performance, brief talk about future work, picture, video, or anecdotes about creative habits and experiences. The two In The Works gatherings in spring 2022 will be for mothers or parents who identify as female/non-binary/trans. The art of finding creative balance when you are taking care of young children and working at the same time is a real challenge.
The gathering will be facilitated by Hyeyung Sol Yoon, co-founder of Open Space Music and an OSM Madang Artist, and will include a discussion and sharing of resources that will help to inspire our individual and collective creative journeys. One does not have to be a musician or an artist to participate, but the gathering will be open only to mothers and parents who identify as female/non-binary/trans. In order to create an intimate and open environment, we will be limiting each gathering to 15 people maximum including the musicians sharing their works.
There is no charge to attend and participate in this gathering. If you are able to give a monetary amount, please consider making a contribution. We thank you for giving to our open space where the boundaries between groups of people, including artists and audience, fade away inspiring creative freedom.
The gathering will last approximately 1.5 hours.
This event is a part of the Madang Project. Please find out more about the Madang Project here. The next In The Works gathering will take place on Thursday, April 7, 7:30 PM EST on Zoom. Register here.
