April 7, 2022, 7:30 PM - In The Works, Inspire Creativity
Thursday, April 7, 2022, 7:30 PM EST on Zoom
In The Works is a communal gathering for musicians (professionals, amateurs, and students) and music lovers to share their works in progress with each other in an open, safe, and inviting environment. The work in progress can be a live performance or a recorded presentation of old works (by dead composers) or new works (by living people). The two In The Works gatherings in spring 2022 will be for mothers or parents who identify as female/non-binary/trans. The challenge of parenting is real, and it is almost impossible to find balance when you are taking care of young children and working at the same time. The gathering will be facilitated by Hyeyung Sol Yoon, co-founder of Open Space Music and an OSM Madang Artist, and will include a discussion and sharing of resources that will help to inspire our individual and collective creative journeys. One does not have to be a musician or an artist to participate, but the gathering will be open only to mothers and parents who identify as female/non-binary/trans. In order to create an intimate and open environment, we will be limiting each gathering to 15 people maximum including the musicians sharing their works.
There is no charge to attend and participate in this gathering. If you are able to give a monetary amount, please consider making a contribution. We thank you for giving to our open space where the boundaries between groups of people, including artists and audience, fade away inspiring creative freedom.
The gathering will last approximately 1.5 hours.
This event is a part of the Madang Project. Please find out more about the Madang Project here. Please check out another In The Works gathering taking place on January 9, 2022, at 3:00 PM EST on Zoom. Register here.
